How Keno Payouts Work

Every keno payout comes down to one simple formula:

The keno payout formula

Payout = Bet × Multiplier (for your number of hits)

The multiplier is read straight from the payout chart for your chosen difficulty level. Land more matching numbers, and you move further down the chart to a bigger multiplier.

So three things decide what you win: your bet amount, your difficulty level (which sets the whole chart), and how many of your picks hit. The draw itself is random — the payout chart simply translates your result into a win. Use the calculator below to see exactly how it works.

Multipliers are the exact values Keno Multiplier pays when you pick 10 numbers. Every pick count from 1 to 10 has its own table, shown in the game before each round. Virtual credits have no real-world monetary value.

This chart shows the exact multiplier for each number of hits on all four difficulty levels when you pick 10 numbers — 40 numbers on the board, 10 drawn each round.

Note: Fewer picks use their own tables. On Ultra, for example, the top prize climbs from 380× with 4 picks to 3,500× with 6, 7,500× with 8 and 10,000× with 10. The game shows the exact table for your picks before every round.

Payout Chart by Difficulty

Each difficulty reshapes the chart toward a different play style:

  • Low — pays from 2 hits (1.1×) up to 600× for all 10. The friendliest chart: about 4 rounds in 5 return something.
  • Medium — starts paying at 3 hits (1.45×) and reaches 800× for all 10. About half of all rounds pay.
  • High — needs at least 4 hits (3.6×) but climbs to 2,000× for all 10. A round pays about 1 time in 5.
  • Ultra — extreme keno: nothing below 5 hits, then 60× for 6, 650× for 7, 3,500× for 8, 7,500× for 9 and 10,000× for all 10. Only about 1 round in 20 pays. Maximum ceiling, maximum variance.

How Your Picks Affect Payout Size

The number of spots you pick changes how the chart applies to you. Picking more numbers raises the top-end payout you can reach, but a full match becomes rarer.

Keno Payouts vs Odds

It is important not to confuse payout with odds. The payout is how much a result pays; the odds are how likely that result is. A 10,000× multiplier looks huge, but it sits at the top of the chart precisely because hitting that many numbers is rare.

Higher difficulty levels offer bigger multipliers in exchange for longer odds on reaching them. Lower difficulties pay less per hit but hand out wins far more often. Neither is "better" — they simply trade frequency for ceiling. Because every draw is random and independent, no chart position is more likely than its stated odds suggest.

Prefer a traditional fixed paytable? Classic Keno uses the standard 80-number casino format — 20 numbers drawn, pick up to 10 — with a single fixed payout chart instead of difficulty-based multipliers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are keno payouts calculated?

Keno payouts are calculated by multiplying your bet by the payout multiplier for the number of hits you land. The multiplier comes from the payout chart for your chosen difficulty. For example, betting 10 credits at a 4× chart value pays 40 credits. More hits and higher difficulty levels generally produce larger multipliers.

What is a keno payout chart?

A keno payout chart is a table listing the multiplier you win for each possible number of hits. Every difficulty level has its own chart. Lower difficulties pay smaller multipliers more often; higher difficulties pay larger multipliers but require more hits.

Does picking more numbers increase my keno payout?

Picking more numbers raises the ceiling on your potential payout because the top of the chart rewards landing many matches. But a full match becomes much rarer as you pick more numbers. Fewer picks pay smaller multipliers that hit more often.

Is there a free keno payout calculator?

Yes — the calculator on this page is free and interactive. Enter your bet, choose a difficulty, and set your hits to instantly see your payout and net win. No signup required.

What happens to my keno payout if I get zero hits?

If none of your numbers match, the multiplier is 0× and the round pays nothing. How often that happens depends on how many numbers you pick, not on difficulty: with 10 picks a complete miss happens about once every 28 rounds, while with 1 pick most rounds miss.
